The scalability features of the IBM TotalStorage DS3000 series gives businesses the capability to respond to their constantly changing storage environment. Adding storage capacity to a DS3000 disk storage system is both easy and relatively inexpensive. DS3000 disk systems allow users to make capacity upgrades at an affordable rate by either adding disk drives or by adding additional storage expansion units such as the EXP3000 (1727-02T). A maximum of 3 EXP3000 expansion enclosures can be attached to a single DS3000 for a maximum capacity of 48 disk drives.
