Dell PowerVault MD3000i

The Dell Power Vault MD3000i is a disk storage expansion enclosure that is ideal for customers looking for an alternative to the cost-prohibitive fiber channel (FC) fabric for their network storage solution. So if you’re looking for storage consolidation, but want to maximize your performance and functionality without the cost of an enterprise-class Storage Area Network (SAN) solution, then the Dell PowerVault MD3000i Internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI) SAN may be exactly what you are looking for. The Dell MD3000i offers the ability to consolidate storage of up to 16 Dell PowerEdge servers, as well as the mixing and matching of Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) and Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) hard drives, and modular, pay-as-you-grow scalability.  As a result of its scalability, the Dell MD3000i can expand beyond its single enclosure 15 Large Form Factor (LFF) disk drive capacity to hold up to 45 disk drives with a maximum disk storage capacity of 45 Terabytes (TB).

And when it comes to business critical applications, the MD3000i disk storage array comes fully redundant with dual Ethernet ports, as well as proactive, automatic drive failure notification to deliver maximum availability. As a result, the Dell PowerVault MD3000i disk storage array is a perfect fit for virtual environments, or wherever shared storage is a necessity.  Other advantages of the Dell MD3000i include ease of management for expanding virtual environments and high availability, all in a single box that doesn’t break the bank.  Some of the greatest features of the Dell Power Vault MD3000i iSCSI SAN include:  Intelligent battery monitoring, automated drive failure detection, hot-pluggable components, and support for multiple RAID levels including 0, 1, 10, 5 and 6. The Dell PowerVault MD3000i also features snapshot virtual disk-copying abilities, which provide hour-by-hour backup of the system.
