T3-4 servers can be configured with either 2 or 4 SPARC T3 processors, and each SPARC T3 processor features 16 cores. As a result, Sun T3-4 servers can support the simultaneous execution of up to 512 compute threads.

And since up to 8 5U Sun T3-4 rack servers can fit within a single standard data center rack, that amount of highly dense computing power makes them ideal for mission-critical, back-office applications as well as others such as web serving, java applications and virtualization, consolidation of enterprise web and application tier infrastructure, and enterprise applications including Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Software Configuration Management (SCM). Furthermore, Sun SPARC T3-4 servers offer robust I/O performance through support for up to 16 PCI-Express (PCIe) slots, as well as the option of an I/O Expansion unit that can provide the T3-4 with up to 4 times the I/O performance of its predecessor.
