Sun SPARC M Series Servers

As enterprise level servers, Sun SPARC M series servers are capable of tackling the demanding compute requirements of mission critical applications including complex application workloads, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Online Transaction Processing (OLTP). One of the reasons Sun SPARC M series servers are capable of this level of computing is their ability to scale up to 64 SPARC64 VII+ 4-core processors – allowing for up to 256 processor cores and up to 4 Terabytes (TB) of Random-Access Memory (RAM) in a single processor.  Additionally, for applications requiring mission critical deployment, Sun SPARC M series servers are equipped with up to 288 I/O slots for optimal I/O connectivity. With further benefits including high performance, scalability, and availability, the M series of Sun servers feature built-in virtualization, which eliminates complications and cuts overhead expenses to make the virtualization of this Sun server virtually no cost.

Sun SPARC M series servers are an Always On It server platform. This means that they offer exceptional investment protection and continued support, since they have superior scalability as well as the ability to provide both hardware and operating system upgrades that function with your existing IT infrastructure. Sun SPARC M servers are also able to mix and match different processor generations and speeds, for additional adaptability for current and future business needs. Further advantages that Sun M series servers are able to provide as a Unix platform include predictive self-healing, full hardware redundancy and fault-isolated, dynamic partitioning. Able to support scale-up or scale-out architectures, the SPARC M series of Sun servers is equipped with the right tools for simplified system management. Featuring a single tool for integrated hardware and software management, Sun SPARC M series servers are equipped with a built-in Oracle Enterprise Ops Center datacenter automation tool to reduce the complexity of server management and provide customized reports to keep you informed on the operational and compliance status of your server.
