The IBM Bladecenter HS22 (Model 7870) offers consolidated and high performance computing for running intense applications and virtualization technologies. It contains the latest Intel Xeon 5600 series 6-core processors, with speeds varying from 1.86 Gigahertz (GHz) up to 3.60GHz for maximized processing. The IBM HS22 blade server offers twelve Double Data Rate 3 (DDR3) Very Low Profile (VLP) Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM) slots and up to 192 Gigabytes (GB) of total memory capacity with memory speeds reaching 1333 Megahertz (MHz).Transferring data is much faster and more efficient because of the high bus speeds and throughput. Further technical specifications of HS22 servers include one Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCI-E) slot, support for up to two 2.5" hot-swap Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) or Solid State Drives (SSD) drives for internal storage, and integrated dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) connections. RAID0, 1, and 1E are supported and RAID5 is an available option. An embedded hypervisor to support virtualization technologies also comes standard on the HS22.
