The HP ProLiant BL2x220c G5 is a half-height 2-in-1 blade server, allowing for maximum server density and power efficiency with two server nodes in one blade. With advantages such as quick response times and low power consumption, the BL2x220c is a compact solution for cloud computing data centers, as well as applications including Web 2.0 and High Performance Computing (HPC). Equipped with the latest technologies, The ProLiant BL2x220c can be equipped with either 2 quad-core or 2 dual-core Intel Xeon processors and is upgradeable to up to 2 processors per server node. Able to fit up to 32 server nodes per C7000 enclosure, the HP BL2x220c offers 3 different options when it comes to c-Class HP blade server enclosures: two rack enclosures, the HP BladeSystem c7000 and the HP BladeSystem c3000, and one tower enclosure, the HP BladeSystem c3000.

Beyond its power-efficient server blade design, the HP BL2x220c offers additional advantages including easy remote management, resource utilization and complete lifecycle management – all of these features allow for a reduced total cost. With a high memory capacity, the ProLiant BL2x220c is capable of supporting up to 32 Gigabit (Gb) of memory and is able to scale up to 2 Terabyte (Tb) per 42U of rack space. In 40U of rack space, the HP ProLiant BL2x200c is able to scale up to 256 processor sockets – meaning it can scale up to 1024 processor cores. Built utilizing x86 server technology, additional features of the BL2x200c include an internal drive support option of 1 Small Form Factor (SFF) Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) drive or 1 SFF Solid State Drive (SSD), both non-hot plug, as well as offering 4 Dual In-line Memory Module (DIMM) memory slots.
