HP Integrity Blade Infrastructure

A Robust Supporting Infrastructure for Multi-Server Enterprise Environments

There are many components that make up an HP BladeSystem c-Class blade infrastructure, which several options to choose from. The first decision to be made when building your HP blade infrastructure is which HP BladeSystem blade enclosure to implement, the c3000 or the c7000. Both of these HP blade chassis come with their own connectivity options, power options and cooling systems. The HP c3000 even comes with a DVD drive and an optional local KVM module, while the HP c7000 comes with an optional redundant onboard administrator module.

HP c-Class Blade Infrastructure

Highly Versatile to Meet the Needs of Today and Future Datacenters

Once the HP BladeSystem c-Class enclosure has been decided, other components will need to be decided upon and added to complete your HP c-Class blade infrastructure. A crucial component option is the type of blade server that your blade enclosure will be populated with. HP c-Class enclosures can accommodate either HP Integrity or HP ProLiant blade servers, allowing for the option of AMD, Intel or even Itanium processors. In addition to server blades, HP c-Class blade chassis allow for the option of direct-attach storage blades, future shared storage blades or tape storage blades that will provide block-based shared storage for the server blades within the enclosure.

Customizable Blade Infrastructure to Meet the Needs of Your Unique Environment

Once the blade enclosure and the blade servers have been decided, other components still need to be determined for a complete HP BladeSystem c-Class blade infrastructure, including the networking interconnect modules. Depending on which interconnect type is best-suited to your requirements, there is a wide range of networking interconnect module options including Ethernet, Fibre Channel (FC), iSCSI and Infiniband. The latest and most advanced interconnect option for the HP c-Class blade infrastructure is HP's new Virtual Connect FlexFabric, which offers the advantage of flexible and dynamic networking for both IP and storage.
