HP Integrity BL870c Blade Servers

The HP Integrity BL870c series consists of varying models of four-socket full-height blade servers that are designed to support the mission critical application demands of enterprise IT environments. For example, due to the robust performance and high availability of HP BL870c blade servers, they are ideal for high-end applications and technical workloads. Other high performance features of HP BL870c servers that make them so ideal for these mission critical applications include support for up to 4 dual-core Intel Itanium 9100 series processors, 192 Gigabytes (GB) of maximum memory capacity, four hot-pluggable Small Form Factor (SFF) Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) disk drives, four integrated Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) ports, and three c-Class I/O mezzanine cards. Additionally, these HP Integrity blades are supported on multiple operating systems (OS) including HP-UX, OpenVMS, Microsoft Windows Server, and Linux.

Other components that make up HP Integrity BL870c server blades include 24 DIMM slots, a high-performance HP zx2 chip set, various c-Class infrastructure components and more. And in addition to all of the components utilized in HP BL870c blade servers, they also feature many cutting-edge technologies. These advantageous technologies include HP’s unique Integrated Lights Out 2 (i-LO2) advanced, Cache Safe Technology for the Intel Itanium processors, Dynamic Processor Resiliency technology, and a soft-partitioning and virtualization technology known as HP Integrity Virtual Machines. As a result of these technologies, HP BL870c servers are endowed with benefits such as enhanced availability, automatic and dynamic resource allocation, shared CPU and I/O, high flexibility, de-allocation capabilities, and easy management. Another benefit of HP Integrity BL870c server is that they can be housed in c-Class blade enclosures just like HP ProLiant server blades and HP StorageWorks storage blades can, and they can even share the same interconnect modules.
