HP AlphaServer ES45
Designed to handle diverse, demanding enterprise applications, HP Alphaserver ES45 system is available in 3 different models to better suit individual needs with differences in the aspects such as the ease of scalability, Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) bus options and more. HP AlphaServer ES45’s also support Open VMS and Tru64 Unix operating systems (OS) for the benefit of their many loyal customers running legacy HP Alpha equipment. As a result of their many features and wide-ranging performance capabilities, HP ES45 servers can scale to up to four 1.25 Gigahertz (GHz) Alpha processors, 32 Gigabytes (GB) of maximum Error Correcting Code (ECC) memory, up to 12 x Universal Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) disk drives with Random Array of Independent Disk (RAID) option, up to 10 64-bit PCI I/O expansion slots on 3 PCI busses, internal tape and N+1 redundant power supplies. Additionally, HP ES45 servers can be ordered as an 8U rackmount, tower or pedestal configuration for extra storage options.
Since HP AlphaServer ES45 systems are able to offer the performance, power and speed expected from large systems, it can be surprising to discover that they come equipped with a mid-range server price tag. Built on an advanced 8 GB/s memory cross-bar switch architecture, HP ES45 servers also are able to handle touch business, technical and science applications with the help of features and embedded technologies such as advanced clustering support, a redundant hot-swappable power and cooling system, hot-swappable RAID storage, a 16 Megabyte (MB) L2 Dual Data Rate cache, hot-pluggable PCI slots and many more.
