The GS140 proceeded HP/Compaq's popular 8200/8400 line, adding improved clock speed on the backplane, which allowed for faster processors. This line of server scales to a maximum of 14 alpha generation 6 processor chips, 28GB of memory, 1784GB of internal disk storage and up to 144 PCI expansion cards over 4 separate I/O Channels. A single GS140 can be divided into a maximum of three logical hardware partitions and also offers a 3-phase power option.
