It can be called the HP AlphaServer, Compaq AlphaServer, or Digital AlphaServer. The Alpha Server 4000/4100 was the choice for mid range computing needs for many years. It came complete with many integral and unique features, including error correcting 1.1GB/sec. synchronous high-speed system bus that is speed matched to each processor amd two independent 64 bit PCI buses at 250MB/sec. each.

The Alpha Server 4000/4100 had a peak capacity of 500 MB/sec. The Alpha Server 4000/4100 has an exclusive System Drawer design that can be easily expanded to support multiple CPU, memory, and I/O capabilities.

This server eliminates trade-off decisions for Dedicated memory vs CPU slots.The Alpha Server 4000/4100 supports the EV5 and EV5.6 Alpha technologies. The Alpha Server 4000/4100 is the ideal plaform for high-performance database applications, as well as a host of general purpose, technical, and commercial applications.
