Dell PowerEdge 2950 Server

Are you looking for exceptional performance while maximizing your storage capacity? Who isn’t? Then check out the Dell PowerEdge 2950 - a perfect blend of power, performance and storage. The Dell Power Edge 2950 offers configuration flexibility in a 2U chassis, and is comprised of the Intel 5000x series Xeon processor, which supports up to two Quad-core processors operating at a blistering 3.0GHz. With eight fully buffered DIMM slots, the Power Edge 2950 can support up to 32 Gigabytes (GB) of paired memory operating at a maximum of 667MHz. Dell 2950 servers have three PCI slots available with support for both PCI-Express (PCIe) and PCI-eXtended (PCI-X). In fact, 2950 servers can be outfitted with a PCIe riser with three PCI Express Slots, or two PCI-X 64-bit/133MHz and one PCI Express x8 slot providing expansion capabilities in the future.

With the TCP/IP Offload Engine (TOE) embedded into the dual Gigabit Network Interface Card (NIC) card, CPU performance is no longer bogged down by relentless TCP/IP traffic. The Dell PE 2950 has three different hard disk drive options: 2.5” Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) 10K RPM, 3.5” SAS 10/15K RPM and 3.5” Serial Advanced Technology Attachement (SATA) drives. The PowerEdge 2950 has a maximum capacity of 4.5TB with six 750GB hot-plug SATA (7.2K RPM) drives. For environments with servers located in secure data centers or sites with no onsite IT staff, Dell offers an optional feature for the PowerEdge 2950 server --the Dell Remote Access Controller (DRAC). Operated through a Web-based GUI, DRAC can enable remote access, monitoring, troubleshooting, repair and upgrades independent of the operating system status, making it easy for IT staff to manage their system.
