Juniper SSG550 Secure Services Gateways
As a modular, high-performance Virtual Private Network (VPN) security platform, the Juniper Secure Services Gateway (SSG) 550 is one of the two models in the Juniper SSG500 product line. The Juniper SSG550 is designed to handle the needs of both branch offices and medium-sized businesses. Through offering security, routing, Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity, the Juniper SSG550 offers the robust performance these networks require. Equipped with a comprehensive set of Unified Threat Management (UTM) security features, the SSG550 line protects both traffic flowing in and traffic flowing out of the network from security breaches including worms, trojans, malware and spyware. Some of the many security features included with UTM include up to 1 Gigabits per second (Gbps) of stateful firewall, up to 500 Megabits per second (Mbps) of IPsec VPN, web filtering, Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), anti-spam and anti-virus.
As a member of the Juniper SSG500 VPN security platform family, the Juniper SSG550 modular VPN security platform offers a vast array of features - each with their own unique advantages. For example, the Juniper SSG550 comes equipped with 4 on-board 10/100/1000 interfaces as well as 6 I/O expansion slots that can house a variety of LAN and WAN interfaces. The SSG550 is actually a highly flexible product line, featuring a vast array of I/O options, and a choice of single or redundant AC or DC power supplies, high memory options and more. Featuring a robust routing engine, other advantageous features of Juniper SSG550 VPN security platforms include up to 1,000 concurrent VPN tunnels, 600,000 packets per second (PPS) firewall performance, 256,000 maximum concurrent sessions, and 4,000 maximum security policies.
