The Cisco 3900 series of routers addresses the next phase of branch office evolution with rich media collaboration and virtualization capabilities. The generation 2 Cisco 3900 routers offer Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) switching with enhanced Power over Ethernet (ePoE), multi-core Central Processing Units (CPUs), new control capabilities and  more intelligent energy monitoring capabilities. Additionally, unprecedented levels of service integration are offered with the industry-leading Cisco 3900 series of Integrated Services Routers (ISR), as well as improved availability and performance.

Cisco 3900 series of integrated services routers include four different models: the Cisco 3945E, the Cisco 3925E, the Cisco 3945 and the Cisco 3925. The modular architecture of these platforms allow for growth and adaptation to meet your business needs with support for a variety of module slots as well as Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity options. Designed for the future, maximum investment protection is offered with the Cisco 3900 series, as modules can be interchanged with other Cisco routers.  A default Cisco IOS universal image allows for all functions, with advanced feature sets enabled by software activation on the universal image.  A wide array of security technology features are offered with the Cisco 3900 router series, including: threat protection, advanced application inspection and manageable Virtual Private Network (VPN), enabled by encryption architectures.
