Server consolidation gives you the ability to eliminate server sprawl by converting physical servers into fully functional virtual machines. Each virtual machine represents a complete system-with processors, memory, networking, and storage-that enables your organization to run multiple operating systems and software applications on the same piece of hardware at the same time. By running multiple workloads of VMware, you can reduce the number of physical servers in your environment and lower your operational costs.
