"I just wanted to pass along a little bit of thanks for such good technical support with regards to my server hardware issue.
Before (Sales Rep) called, I was very nervous about my situation. My boss was questioning whether my server purchase had been the right decision. I greatly appreciated your prompt reaction to my situation, however the thought of having to freight back a server chassis, rebuild the server myself and schedule maintenance to help me put it back in the rack was rather daunting.
When (Sales Rep) called I thought we were just going to run a few tests to prove that the product was, in fact, defective/broken so that we could file an RMA. I had no idea that he would be able to narrow the problem down to just one of the processors. (Sales Rep) was very professional and very patient with me and I appreciate that very much. The server is now up and running again and I didn't have to work nearly as hard as I originally imagined that I would have had to, to get there. That level of quality service is a great motivator for me to consider buying extended warranties from Great Lake Computers.

"We have been purchasing refurb server equipment for a number of years now with minimal issues. It has saved us untold amounts of money.
Great Lakes is very good about stocking spares and equipment, so if we need an RMA or whatever for a newly received part, they typically have one and can turn it around either on the same day or in one day (depending on the part).
Another Win-Win Story
A key piece of our strategy is to "globalize" IT to become more streamlined and standardized around the world. The manager of server engineering just stopped by my office to tell me how much Great Lakes helped us with one of the initial implementations of our global Active Directory project. This project will require standardized HP ProLiant hardware and configuration images for the critical Domain Controllers that will be installed in our international affiliates. Your team was able to configure systems with our standard image and ship them to the proper locations within a week. The first one recently arrived "in country" and our team there was able to simply take the system out of the box and plug it in - and it's working as expected.
As a result of this process, our team no longer has to worry about international shipping hassles, the affiliate teams don't have to go through the approval/ordering/acquisition processes for the hardware and we don't have to walk them through the configuration process (eliminating the potential mistakes). We're also saving approximately $2K/system in acquisition costs compared to what our affiliates would have to pay.
This is the type of partnership we like to see with our vendors because it creates a "win-win" for everybody involved. Thank you to the Great Lakes team!"
