GLC Goes Down Under

"As you and I discussed, a key piece of our strategy is to "globalize" IT to become more streamlined and standardized around the world. [name removed] just stopped by my office to tell me how much Great Lakes helped us with one of the initial implementations of our global Active Directory project. This project will require standardized hardware and configuration images for the critical Domain Controllers that will be installed in our international affiliates, starting with Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, followed closely by several countries in Europe.

According to [name removed], your team was able to configure systems with our standard image and ship them to the proper location within a week. The first one recently arrived in Australia and our team there was able to simply take the system out of the box and plug it in - and it's working as expected.

As a result of this process, our team no longer has to worry about international shipping hassles, the affiliate teams don't have to go through the approval/ordering/acquisition processes for the hardware and we don't have to walk them through the configuration process (eliminating the potential mistakes). We're also saving approximately $2K/system in acquisition costs compared to what our affiliates would have to pay.

This is the type of partnership we like to see with our vendors because it creates a "win-win" for everybody involved. Thank you to you and the rest of the Great Lakes team!"
