Problem:
The customer’s Medical Application provider had several engineers flying in the next day for a major software and hardware implementation. Due to personnel turnover, the hospital IT staff assumed the application provider was going to supply the necessary hardware. When the hospital IT staff became aware of the oversight, they had less than 24 hours to have the hardware delivered. With no one else able to deliver on time, they contacted Great Lakes Computer.


Action:
Within hours of receiving an urgent phone call, the Great Lakes Computer technical staff went to work and custom built an HP c-Class Blade Server configuration consisting of a c7000 enclosure, CISCO Catalyst 3020 Blade Switch, four BL460’s and four BL480 blade servers, plus a multi-terabyte EVA 8000 using product entirely from inventory. In less than 24 hours, Great Lakes Computer delivered a functional blade environment and a SAN to the customer.
